ALPHESS ADRASTEIA tag: @evyerone involved in the hunt
Soft pawsteps trudged on the ground below them as they headed towards their destination. eyes focused ahead of themselves as they drew in deep breathes of the air around them. The scent of lush greenery and of course what the she-wolf is looking for, prey. Specifically Caribou. Slowing her steps to a halt as she looked down the valley below where the herd of caribou rest grazing easily and calmly. The young alphess has to resist the eager to bolt down the valley and after one of them, but she knew well she could catch up to one but not take it down on her own. She may be an alpha but strength isn't her strong attributes. Besides, she had to wait for the others.
Sitting back on her haunches before she decided to lay down in the long grass. Her bright silver jade eyes looked around the canoyn called anita and one she would never forget or the stories about it she had been told as a pup. it was rumoured a once mighty pack lived in this canoyn, they never had to worry about the months of winter and how many they would lose to the cold or starvation. no, they had the life and land any pack would dream of having, any alpha would wish they had. but then, they all disappeared. where? she had no idea. that is what is a mystery. It would scare most pups, but not Adrasteia. It had the opposite affect infact she would be curious. it would the story that her old pack would tell to scare those away from claiming the land. but instead of claiming the land, a tradition was held once every year, that every member from the separate packs would come together and hunt as one. She hasn't been apart of the pack as alphess long, only a year or so, so this hunting would be her first time as an alphess of her pack. she had been on a few hunts before as a hunter, the experience of hunting with the other packs is amazing. at times it seems like each wolf is at each other but once the hunt is started it seems to work. to her is very much a unique experience. one she would never pass up.
yawning, the iberian wolf glanced around waiting patiently for the others to arrive to begin the hunt. adrasteia wondered how many would actually turn up, she hadn't met all the wolves. some hadn't turned up, and not mention she wasn't alphess last time. things would be different this time.

IT'S RATHER EASY TO SHINE IN THE LIGHT, BUT TO GLOW IN THE DARK THAT'S MASTERY Tenebris was up and at his throne as the dawn broke through the cracks in his temple. His silvery eyes upon the large doors as it opened to let in the night patrol as they returned. Nodding to each of them as they passed to go and turn in for a few hours of sleep. Speaking up his voice was clear and loud,”all wolves must be ready to leave out after the high sun.” He cleared his throat and sat at his throne while the others went about their day. He watched as pups ran around playing with each other. How he had longed to have pups of his own one day, but he was probably destined to never have any. So far no females had caught the males eye. Shaking his head he threw out the thought as there were many pups here to be taught. Sighing, Tenebris watched as the hunters gathered at the door, speaking up so they could hear him,”don’t catch large prey. Rabbits only as we will be making our way to the Anita Canyon this very day to participate in the Great Hunt.” The hunters nodded their understanding and headed out.
Today was a day that Tenebris waited for all year, the Great Hunt was a day of no war and all peace. It was also a day to prove one's strength and skill. A day of good food and company. A grin spread across his maw. All of the pack members will be joining, all the way down to the omegas. Closing his eyes for a moment and breathing deeply he heard as the small hunting party that had left was now returning with meals. Soon everyone was eating and preparing for the journey ahead. Once he as done eating Tenebris gave a slight bark to grab everyone's attention,”once everyone is finished with their meals please rise and gather outside as we will soon be making the trek to Anita Canyon for the Great Hunt.” He nodded to let them know he was finished with his speech. Stepping down off his throne the black brute made his way outside, it was a decently warm day. Every now and again a breeze blowing by. “Nice day for a walk”, he thought to himself.
Not very much longer and all the pack was ready to make the walk to Anita Canyon. A place of lush green grass and clear blue skies. It had been two years since his silvery gaze had laid upon the scenery of the canyon. Giving a howl he notified the warriors to keep watch as they now made their way to the hunting grounds. They would go hunting caribou and large game, then tonight they would all feast upon the catches of the day. The thought of it made his mouth water and his steps quicken a degree. Bringing the pack to a trot. It wouldn’t be long that they reached the canyon at this pace.
Just a few hours later the Erebos pack had reached the canyon. Upon arrival, Tenebris had noticed a figure that he recognized as the Alphess of Adrousdan. He had only met her once, but he was very good at remembering faces. Names not so much. Stepping away from the others the large male moved towards the female, his silvery eyes kind and friendly as well as his voice when he spoke,”Adrasteia?” There was a slight question as he wasn’t very sure it was her at first. Stopping just a few strides away Tenebris waited for the figure to move to kill him or speak softly. He was ready for either, but would rather not fight if he could avoid it. Silently he waited.

Ratonhnhake:ton
The tragedy of life is not death but what we let die inside of us while we live..
Ratonhnhake:ton had gotten up early or rather had not been to his nest. The young brute was restless and unable to have sleep come over him and so he walked. The brute walked as far as his paws would carry him and back again and was still not able to sleep to he contented himself to sorting out his precious herbs, his unreadable but soft pale dusty eyes lingering lovingly over each herb as he moved them about with a gentleness that wasn't really seen out of him.
Raton was the quiet type and hardly spoke unless spoken to and rarely ventured from his den unless he was in dire need of herbs or just a break from the walls that enclosed him. He cared nothing about the outside word and had been that way since his younger brother had disappeared and often times got into spats with his older brother about it and even how he acted or treated the world.
He was indifferent to everything but showed nothing. Showing things was a sign of weakness yet he worried deep inside of him and was always watching the Alpha and always tried to be near in case the black wolf would be in need of him which is why the Lead Healer decided to tag along on the hunt , ignoring the snarlings of his brother to stay at home. - Now when the brothers were pups they had been the best of friends but something in their puphood caused a rip between them and ended up with them losing a brother. Raton became indifferent and longed for nothing more then to be a healer, which his brother Katon sneered about. But the tear in the bond of the two brothers seemed not to bother Raton for it meant peace for him and peace to do what he wished and how he wished to do it. He often recalled his brother making snide remarks at his wanting to be healer but look at him now.. His brother was a fighter and nothing more be he, Raton, had his own comforts as Lead Healer.. - Silently the brute moved behind his Alpha, or rather behind the long train of pack-mates, his eyes never leaving Tenebris's back. He knew he was no use on this hunt and he knew that some of the hunters or fighters may think he was worthless in his efforts to join the Great Hunt.
When the pack arrived, Raton moved around his pack mates eyes narrowed down as if to avoid his brother's dark and searing gaze and moved towards the Alpha only to stop when he saw him calling out to a female, another Alpha.

ALPHESS ADRASTEIA tag: @evyerone involved in the hunt
the young female alphess, sighed softly as embraced the warmth of the sun on her fur. she closed her eyes as the gentle breeze tossled her fur as though it were alive and wanted to play. hearing the sound of her few hunters and fighters walking about. some fighters practicing amongst themselves. she really could get use to this life, of not having to worry but relaxing and having a genuinely good time. No stress no worries, just relax and have fun. that really would be the life. it is no wonder a pack hasnt claimed the land yet, hopefully it would stay unclaimed as this is the one time a year that the alphess isnt worrying about her pack or anything for that matter it was her day to just let everything go and put it on hold til the next day. this day was long overdue.
drawing in a deep breath of the fresh air, she caught multiple scents; the scent of the caribou and prey nearby, the lush greenery surrounding them, her pack but then the scent that was sharp and unexpecting. her eyes flew open as she shot up to her paws, just as she saw the dark coated wolves of the Erebos pack arrive. her silvery jade eyes looked at each individual wolf wearily, she knew there would be no war on these lands especially not on this day. however, it didn't mean she couldn't be cautious, of course all of them would be on edge until the silence is broken between the two packs. once the alphas had agreed upon peace than everyone would relax. well, that is what she could remember from previous years of attending the hunt. things could be different now for all she knew, but she knew she wasn't here for a fight.
glancing at each of the erebos pack members, she then spotted the alpha. she couldn't easily tell it was him, the power radiated from him and his scent shouted authority over the rest of the pack there. Tenebris. Adrasteia had meet him at least once before and she had heard plenty of stories about the brute before that. she had never had a problem with the brute, she in fact admired his ability as an alpha. definitely one she respects highly. she watched as he approached her without so much as worry or second thought. his silvery eyes looked at her and she saw nothing but friendliness, even when he spoke her name unsure. Adrasteia felt herself chuckle a little,"yes that is my name." she spoke calmly and nodded her head in respect to the other alpha. "Pleasure to finally meet you again, tenebris." the fire alphess greeted in a calm welcoming tone. her gaze looking at the opposite pack before her, and noticed a healer towards the back. she tilted her head slightly out of curiosity as to why a healer had joined the hunt. however, she had no objection towards it, it was tenebris decision not hers. besides, it probably was best to have at least one healer accompanying them incase of injuries. never know what could happen out on a hunt, especially of one this scale.

WORD COUNT: 411 | TAGS: All involved in The Great Hunt Tenebris watched as the Alphess before him spun around like a whirlwind. He couldn’t help himself but to give a small chuckle as she did. He watched her as she realized he meant no harm or quarry, hearing her give a small chuckle to his questioning tone. She assured him that was her name,”you’ll have to forgive me, I am terrible at remembering names and I am glad to meet you again as well.” Tenebris turned his head to see what she was looking at behind him. Nodding his head,”ah yes, most don’t bring healers, but Ratonhnhake:ton comes with me almost everywhere. He is my leading healer and with this rowdy bunch, you may never know when one is needed. So here he is.” Tenebris nodded his head to the healer and then returned his silver eyes to the fae before him. “Was it a long travel for you and yours”,he asked her as he moved to scratch an itch behind his right ear. Putting his foot down he moved his gaze to the canyon below them as they sat upon the cliff overlooking the valley. It was a beautiful sight. A herd of caribou grazed unknowing to what fate had in store for them this day. Flickering an ear to the left he heard as a mother barked at a pup who wandered too close to the ledge. Tenebris lunged for the pup before it could fall, snatching the small brute up by the scruff of his neck. A few rocks fell to the valley below as the alphas back foot pushed away from the edge. His blood was rushing in his ears, his breathing slightly heavy as horrid thoughts ran through his mind. Placing the young pup down on the ground his silver eyes turned serious as his brows knitted together,”I suggest you stay with your mother from now until we leave.” His voice was demanding and father like, even though he had no pups of his own. The pup nodded,”yes sir.” “Good, then return to her and stay put”, Tenebris watched as the young pup ran back to his mother and buried his face into her fur. Sighing and shaking off the adrenaline, he moved back to his sitting place before the alphess,”forgive me for leaving you in our conversation, sometimes pups don’t understand life and death.” Tenebris curled his black tail over his paws and gave his company a small smile.

The tragedy of life is not death but what we let die inside of us while we live..
The Healer had spaced out. His gray eyes were set on the female alpha but didn't seem to be actually looking at her. He was lost in his own world but when he heard his name he snapped to attention and glanced at his Alpha as if ready to do something but seemed to relax as he noted he was just being introduced to the female.
A slight dip of the head meant he acknowledged the introduction but no words were dropped from his maw but his gray eyes seemed to be searching the female and only broke his search when he heard the alarmed bark of a mother calling to her pup and was instantly up on his paws eyes narrowed towards where the youth was standing and just as he took a step his Alpha was already at the pup's side pulling him back and ordering him to stay with his mother. A gleam of amusement crossed in his gaze as he watched the pup nod and return to his mother then glanced to his alpha worriedly but still said nothing and let his gaze wander around to finally rest on a particular brute who was standing with two other hunters a look of pure loathing on the male's face.
Uttering a sigh he lowered his eyes and let his head droop and forced his attention back to the two alphas and finally spoke.
"If you are in need of attention as well Alphess Adrestiea I am willing to help.' he woofed. His voice seemed strange and felt rather foreign even to himself as he was a wolf of few words and rarely found it in him to speak to another and had been that way since the accident.

ALPHA APPARI OF ADAMO
Yet another individual was added into the mix of wolves and things gathering slowly together in one place. It seemed like he had gone into a self-imposed hibernation, a deep, endless sleep that only ended when he willed it to. This individual was no stranger to the protocols and festivities that occurred around Zamora though. He could feel the changes of the seasons and time without really trying, and thus these changes elicited a response from him. Appari, alpha of the Adamo wolves, decided to show his face at the hunt. He was the only one in his pack at that current point in time, so the male was the first and only representative of the Adamo pack there. He was his pack’s ambassador, keeper, and leader. Hopefully in time others would join him, and then they could breathe real life into the lands he called home. But for the time being Appari made sure his land was safe, and ventured to where the gathering was scheduled. The alabaster colored male opened his red tinted eyes one by one before lifting his head from his paws. His ears flicked forward on his head as the male wolf moved into an exaggerated stretch. First his back legs extended their full length, before Appari rocked back to do the same for the front one. A crack! noise permeated the air, and a tingling sensation ran up and down the canine’s vertebrae. It felt like he had been collecting dust all this time and his bones were revolting from disuse. But Appari was firing on all cylinders after his stretch, and his mind was working on what to do next. The four year old was in the prime of his life, and had a lot to do; there was no time to be sleeping all of that away, that simply was not him. He was a proactive type of man, and sleeping could be done at a later date. After checking things over a final time, Appari departed temporarily from Adamo. His reddened paw pads carried him at a moderate pace, and he arrived shortly after the two introductions and minor pup cliff scare. The albino male’s crimson gaze passed over the vast majority of wolves, before he found a place to wait. Even though he was an amiable wolf in spirit, Appari was a man of little words as well. He had a heart of his people, and wolves of all shapes and sizes, but he was not named what he was for nothing. Appari was an apparition. The Adamo Alpha was meant to blend in; he was meant to meld into the background while still overseeing the foreground of things. His unique condition sometimes prevented that, for it was not every day a wolf had the albino mutation outside of his family. However, Appari was the friendly, yet ghostly and enigmatic type of wolf. And that meant that he made his presence briefly known by those that sought him out, but did not go out of his way to do so. While waiting for the even to take place, the male sat near the Erebos healer, only a short distance away. He seemed to be of a similar nature and would not require Appari to chitchat idly in the meantime. Being in companionable silence was fine for the time being, and speaking might be mainly optional. Make no mistake that the wolf would do his share, and he most certainly would carry his weight in this hunt. But that did not mean he came to be the socialite that made a point to charm everyone. That was not his style, and he did not try to force the issue. If spoken to then the alpha certainly would not turn down a conversation. But starting one was not on his short list of things to do. Yes, this was a meeting of the packs. Yes, the wolves were supposed to engage with one another. Yes, friendships and alliances could be made here. But, in all honesty, the packs did not seem to need an alliance to be formed. Everyone seemed to get along nicely, and if something was not broken, it was best to let it be.

ALPHESS ADRASTEIAtag: Alpha Tenebris , @ratonhnhake:ton, Alpha Appari watching the large ebony male before her, as he spoke of his apology of not being able to remember names very well. She shook her head a little, and gave a small smile, "it's perfectly fine, it doesn't help that i have an odd name to some." the young alphess shrugged her shoulders a little. it was true she had a unique name, but not as unique as some wolf names can be. she couldn't blame tenebris for only vaguely remembering her name, as for one she wasn't apart of his pack and second she wasn't overly an important wolf to remember. half the time many wolves don't know there is an Adroushan pack around, only until they run into them or threaten the pack, that is when everyone knows the pack is still there. it isn't that the alphess didn't like company or being known, it is the fact that she prefers to keep to herself rather than be out there all and mighty. she wanted to keep her pack safe and the safest way was to keep to themselves and out of sight, unless otherwise provoked. it was always how the pack was run, and why they have survived for so long.
When tenebris noticed her gaze on the healer, she quickly brought her attention back to the alpha before her as he spoke for the reason of the healer joining them. not that she needed a reason, but it was good to know why he was there. Even though she knew vaguely herself as to why and when tenebris spoke as to why, it only confirmed her idea. "understandable, it would come in handy if anyone were to injure themselves on this hunt." she agreed with tenebris's thinking and gave a short nod and looked at the lead healer once again as he gave the slightest movement of his head to acknowledge the introduction of sorts. a quiet one, she thought to herself, not that she had any complaints about it. she just hardly came across quiet wolves, it seemed much of a rare trait in wolves for whatever reason that may be. being her attention back on the alpha before her, she heard his question and gave a small shrug, "always is a long journey for us. Especially when we live so far out and in the desert. But we have grown accustom to it and long journeys are nothing but a stroll." she gave a small smile to the male. it was true that her and her pack do live so far away from everything compared to the other packs, but that was their choice way back when the pack first formed. now, they actually prefer the long journeys which they just downgrade to a leisure walk. "nothing we couldn't handle," she added with a simplistic shrug of her shoulders as if it were no big deal, "what about yourself and your pack?" adrasteia asked out of common manners and courtesy. \
Suddenly though, she heard the bark of a mother from tenebris' pack at one her pups as it wondered far to close to the edge of the cliff. the alphess shot her feet out of instinct, even if it meant helping out another pack member that wasn't hers. however, tenebris shot up before she did and got to the pup just before the pup would have fallen down the cliff. She breathed out a heavy sigh, that she seemed to holding in as tenebris returned the pup to the mother but not without a stern scolding. As tenebris returned to her, she heard his apology and shook her head, "it is perfectly fine. something needed to be done, it could have ended badly if you didn't leave. So no need for apologies." she scolded him a little about always apologising. beside it was an understandable situation, so he had no reason to apologise. besides, it would get on her nerves if he kept apologising over little things, she knew he was only been courtesy but there was no need when it comes to serious situations such as what happened just before.
Abruptly the female heard a voice she hadn't heard since being here. the leader healer of tenebris' pack spoke up, the alphess listened intently before she gave a short nod, "thank you very much, Ratonhnhake:ton. I really do appreciate that." she gave a small smile to the healer, as if to comfort him for speaking. she knew right away that he wasn't much of a speaker, first him not speaking til he had to, such as now, and second his voice just sounded as though it hadn't been used in months, or even years for that matter. she secretly wondered if there was a reason as to why he was like that, and if tenebris knew about it. Adrasteia knew it was none of her business but there was no harm in being curious right??
looking around, the young female noticed a pale white coated male appear with red-pink eyes. he sat only metres from Ratonhnhake:ton and his scent instantly gave away who he was and what rank most importantly. he was an alpha of the Adamo pack, one of the packs she has only ever seen once and their numbers were numerous back then, now it looked as though the Adamo pack lacked the numbers it use to have. Though she had seen the Adamo pack, it had been many years ago, by then they probably had new alpha, which by the looks they did considering she didn't recognise the male whatsoever. Adrasteia felt her silvery jade eyes lock on the male in curiosity and caution. she wanted to know who this wolf was, but gauging by the way he is sitting so far away from the rest of them, she gathered he wasn't one to talk either. she felt intrigued by him, but chose to not say anything, if he didn't want to talk she would respect that. she wasn't one to talk either at times, but that was different. curiosity burned within her, instead turning to tenebris, "have you met the alpha of Adamo before?" she said as her gaze returned to the alpha of Adamo before returning to tenebris.

WORDS: 412 | TAGS: ALL IN THE HUNT Tenebris was lost in thought as he looked over the cliff to the meal that would be granted to all of the wolves present. This was the one day that nothing but smiles and laughter would be heard as everyone feasted. Maybe, even alliances would be formed, new friendships would take place between some. Those that had problems between them could sit and talk about their differences, or even challenge each other to duels. Contest of speed, strength, or endurance is what the duels consisted of but they were all in good nature. Hearing Raton speak up to the fire alpha brought him back from his day dreaming, turning his silvery gaze to the healer who offered his assistance. A small grin crossed his lips, it was the one thing Tenebris liked about Raton, no matter what he was one for helping anyone. Raton was a quiet one but a very kind soul. It was why Tenebris immediately made him lead healer upon his promotion to alpha.
“The travel here was a decent one. For the pups, it might have been a tad bit long, but I wanted them to have the experience so they could look forward to this day. Just as I had as a young pup and growing up. Some good memories to have, other than just the temple walls keeping them in.”
Tenebris noticed a white shape not far from the black coats of his pack. He then knew it was Appari, the Adamo alpha. He had met the alpha a couple of times. It was true, Appari was one of very few works but he was nice company to have when one just wanted to sit and enjoy a moment without words. Swiveling an ear back to the alphess as she asked him about Appari.
“Indeed, I do know Appari. He is most certainly a wolf of few words. He is trustworthy though. He and I have met a pawful of times out in the neutral lands. Nothing of importance though, just chance meetings. Why do you ask?”
Turning his head back to the alphess before him he waited for her to answer. Picking up his hind paw to scratch an itch behind his right ear, then placing it back on the ground. His ears pricked forwards and tail curled over his paws. The sounds of a small breeze blowing through the trees. Taking a deep breath and relaxing. Today was going to be a good one.

Ratonhnhake:ton
The tragedy of life is not death but what we let die inside of us while we live..
The Healer had instantly regretted speaking. Not the words or his offer but letting his voice even break the silence that surrounded him. His gray eyes lowered to the ground and he shifted his paws under him and refused to look up even when the other Alpha came to sit next to him.
He felt the eyes of his Alpha on him and glanced up though he kept his head down. While he was confident of his words and what he had said as he would never back down on it as it was his duty to make sure every wolf, no matter who it may be, was safe and sound.
The brute then ventured to glance at the new comer through the corner of his eyes but still held his tongue an overwhelming sense of being closed in washed over him and he lowered his head still, almost so his muzzle touched the ground.
He had no place here, he knew that, but he refused to let Tenebris out of his sight for very long. It was funny that the only comforting soul he found was in his Alpha and while he knew that he could hardly be considered a friend the male believed that it was his duty to keep an eye on the large wolf. He knew that the others may find it silly for him to be here, one wolf in particular..
Finally he lifted his head and looked from the Alpha female to his own Alpha to the male next to him and offered a shy dip of his head in greetings.

ALPHA APPARI OF ADAMO Curiosity seemed to be the word of the day between the wolves that had gathered together on this particular occasion. The Adroushan Alphess expressed open interest in Appari, and in return, he expressed his own towards her. The Adamo Alpha would not come outright and say it, but he was intrigued by what she had to say about him. Sometimes what people say in someone’s presence is different from what someone says behind their back. Sometimes malicious thing are said to someone’s face, though the opposite is the truth in actuality. Other times good things are said to someone’s face with malicious ones said behind their backs. But that probably was not the case here; everyone seemed to be on friendly terms and the mood was light to the touch. But the pallid male was curious to see what others thought about him, so he pretended not to listen. It was hard not to eavesdrop when he was so nearby anyways, but he faked like he was not. Might as well see what the general consensus was regarding his persona while he still could. Thank goodness he was a good actor with a poker face like no other; he was harder to read and interpret that way. That certainly came in handy in certain situations he was involved in. In other situations, not so much though. Overall, Appari was actually pleased with what he heard from the others’ conversation. His reaction to the whole thing did not change of course – his expression rarely did change on cue – but yet and still he was pleased. Besides, if he did do something about what he had heard in that moment, he would have outed himself. It was best to keep his thoughts to himself, and then do something about them later on in his own solitude. What that would be even Appari did not know, though he supposed that he would figure it out eventually. From what the canine could tell, he was in good standing with the Erebos Alpha at least. That was a good sign as Tenebris spoke kindly of him. He recalled the few times that the two of them had come into contact with one another, and they were always civil and in amiable spirits. That was good enough for Appari. If someone were to ask his opinion on Tenebris, he could say that the feeling of good, quiet companionship was mutual. It was nothing too crazy to write home about, but that was not always such a bad thing all the time. The alabaster colored male mentally thanked the other, though the exchange would probably never be heard. Appari hoped that Andrasteia would look favorably upon him at least for the time being because of Tenebris’ character evaluation. After listening in, Appari realized something was going on. There was a growing sense of anticipation growing in the white wolf’s insides, though he would not be keen on showing it to the others. His red gaze went to the skies, and there he found some circling birds. They knew what this gathering meant, just as much as the various packs did. They knew that around this time every year a big hunt was going to happen. And with a conglomeration of wolves hunting came a scavenger’s feast after they were done. There would be many bones to pick from, and rotting decay to slither down their throats. The sight of some circling birds could be disconcerting to those that were not used to it, but normal to others. It all depended on the temperament of the individual. Appari was quite accustomed to this sight, he was a predator after all and hunting was his game, but his shoulders moved a bit in their sockets. Birds did not always have good taste when it came to their diet. When Raton gave a nod to him however, Appari shifted his attention from the skies back to him. He was cordial in returning the nod, tipping his muzzle towards the ground once and then back again. Still no words came from his mouth, but the nonverbal gesture should communicate his feelings enough he hoped. Then they could get this show on the road sooner or later.
