ARASHI the basics Pack • Rogue Power • Storm Age • 39 Moons Rank • None Gender • Female Sexuality • Demi/Heterosexual the appearance Height and Weight • 89cm & 130lbs Identifying Features • Several scars scatter across the left half of Ashari's body, with jagged, lightning-esque pattern, covering her legs, her shoulders, her flanks, even up to her face. The edge of the scar on her face crosses over one eye, glazed over and scarred itself from the incident that left her with so many unusual scars. There is a single jagged white stripe on the underside of her tail near the tip. Overall Appearance • The first thing anyone would notice about Ashari is her sheer size. She is very large for a female wolf of any time, reasonably above average and from a distance could easily be mistaken as male just for her size. But size isn't the only intimidating thing about this she-wolf. She practically radiates power with each step of her powerful frame, her sleek healthy fur perfectly framing her muscles. There's many battle scars across her form, but none compare to the lightning patterned scars that cover the left half of her body. Her left eye is glossy and scarred, left clearly without sight. Because of the blindness, she keeps her head tilted with her good eye towards anyone she is acknowledging, but her head is always held high in confidence. Her fangs and claws both are positively huge and sharpened in a way that could only be achieved by having to fight every day for survival. Her tail, often poised above her in a show of dominance, has a jagged white stripe towards the tip on the underside of the tail. Her gaze is simply electric. the personality Likes • story weather, the smell of burning wood, the wind in her fur, running, dark places Dislikes • sunny days, hot weather, surprises, unexpected company, males Strengths • fighting, seeming calm and controlled, commanding presence Weaknesses • fragile temper, actual self-control, pups, casual conversation Dreams • to take over all the packs and unite them under a single leadership Fears • death and weakness Overall Personality • Power is gained through confidence and hard work. There is no short cut to becoming truly powerful, or at least, that's what Arashi would say. She speaks with practically unrivaled authority, and many who cross her path would rather try to escape quickly, for fear of her intimidating presence. Yes, her size certainly helps, but there is a sense about Arashi that she could unleash terrifying power at any moment, without hesitation and with intent to kill. She is both respectable, and terrifying. Those who get to know Arashi, often come to hold a deep respect for her as more than a terror. She is passionate, and determined to make a world where no wolf should have to fight as she has to survive. Where wolves would work together to become stronger, rather than bicker meaninglessly, and separate themselves because of their powers. She believes the only way to truly unite the wolves is through warmongering conquest, but that such a war might bring lasting peace among her kind. Arashi certainly is more likely to open up to any female wolves. She can even become kind and motherly towards younger females she feels need the guidance, and often shows them great patience and encouragement, offering to help them become stronger as she has. Arashi often shows open hostility towards males, even those she knows, as she deeply believes they are unpredictable bringers of chaos. the history Father • Kaze | dead Mother • Hikari | dead Littermates • Kumo (M) | alive , Yami (M) | dead , Sora (M) | dead , Ame (F) | dead Important Wolves • none Overall History • The fact is that Arashi wasn't supposed to exist. Nor were any of her siblings. Yet, there is a certain draw to forbidden love that seems to pull in the reckless and young in particular. This is how Arashi's parents came to expect pups. Kaze was a wolf of the Nereus pack, a fine young warrior who had earned the attentions of his pack as a potential future leader. He was powerful. Quick-witted. Even charismatic. The type who would rise quickly through the ranks certainly. That was, until he wrecked his future by falling for Hikari. She was lovely. Always well groomed, sleek and fast. A young, hopeful scout of the Erebos pack. There was something absolutely charming about her genuine smiles and soft words, always full of kindness. She seemed to harbor no hate for anyone, even those against her pack. She was filled with compassion and understanding. Kaze couldn't resist. Nor could Hikari resist Kaze's charming smiles and sly comments. It didn't take long for the two wolves, born of different elements, to begin fraternizing in secret. At first, it seemed as though nothing could go wrong. Both wolves were soaring high on the rush of their forbidden love. That was, until the news came. Hikari was expecting pups. Both wolves panicked. They wouldn't be able to hide what had happened for long, and both had spent their pup-hood hearing stories of twisted elemental hybrids and the terrible things they could be come or that would happen to them. But despite the warning stories from their younger years, the Hikari could already feel a passionate love growing for her pups in her heart. A love so painful that only a mother could understand it. But while Hikari became more and more attatched to her unborn pups, Kaze became more and more resentful of Hikari. The two decided their only option was to run away. There would be no more hiding what was going on within the coming weeks, and they were both certain no one would accept them. So they ran and found a place on neutral lands to make a den. As Hikari's excitement grew and she began nesting, Kaze grew more distant and short with her. Things would only decline when the pups came. Hikari gave birth on her own. Five pups were born. Three males, and two females. Hikari picked out names for each of her pups: Kumo, Yami, Sora, Ame and Arashi. The smallest was Yami, a male, smaller framed like his mother and sickly. Hikari did everythign she could, but he was lost within days. Kaze was nowhere to be found. Hikari buried her small pup on his own. Days more passed before Kaze returned with food for his mate, who so hungry she could hardly produce milk for her pups. She feared she would lose more. Kaze showed no sympathy, and disappeared once more. Hikari found a way. She managed to hunt smaller prey for herself between Kaze's visits, never leaving her pups for long, or going far. Her pups began to grow, and their personalities began to show through. Arashi was growing the fastest, and she certainly was the leader of the small pack, leading her siblings around and getting them into all sorts of pup-level trouble. However, one day, upon returning from a hunt, Hikari found Arashi was missing, while the rest of her pups snoozed peacefully. Hikari was in utter panic as she tried to track her daughter, searching desperately, and a deep seated horror stirred in her stomach when she realized anther scent mixing with Arashi's. Kaze was here. She found them. Perched next to a rushing river she kept her pups away from as none of them would be strong enough to survive the rapids yet. Arashi was peering into the waters, splashing the edges of the rushing water with her paw as her father stood behind her, one paw raised as though to push her in. Hikari froze in horror. Kaze's gaze slowly shifted to meet Hikari's. He pulled back his paw and simply turned and walked away. Hikari rushed to gather her pup and herd Ashari back to the den. The future moons mostly passed without similar incident, but that sinking feeling flooded Hikari any time Kaze brought prey. He would rest, watching the pups play silently. The time was coming when they would reveal if any of them had elemental abilities, and Hikari feared what her mate, or perhaps he was a former mate now, had planned for the pups. Then the day came. Small hints of powers began to arise in the pups. Sora and Arashi would play-fight and static would form around them. It seemed the agile Ame could disappear into the shadows for moments at a time some days, and other day come in from the rain without any dampness in her fur. Kumo was the only one who seemed to show nothing yet. Hikari began to train them to the best of her ability, how to feel their power and control it. She had been teaching them how to hunt and fight, and despite Hikari's own lacking in the department of battle, Arashi showed a natural adeptness at it. Hikari kept careful watch for Kaze. She knew he would return soon. And when the time came, she ushered her pups away from their den, urging them to run and find a safe place to hide. She asked Arashi to keep her siblings safe and promised she would come to them soon. Arashi followed her mother's orders. At first. But truly, she could sense something was terribly wrong, more so than any of the pups could understand. She turned to her siblings and told them she was going back, that she couldn't leave her mother to her fate. Sora insisted on joining her, but Kumo and Ame decided to stay behind, and listen for trouble should their help be needed. The decision to go back came too late, however. Arashi arrived to a gruesome scene of her father standing over her mother, spitting some nonsense about how it was Hikari's fault that his life had fallen apart and that he'd never have the greatness he'd been destined for. Hikari was on the ground bleeding...wheezing...nearly lifeless. What happened next was a blur. Arashi remembers her rage. She remembers a storm rolling in unnaturally fast, and lightning dancing every which way. A burning sensation spreading through half her body. Then she remembers when the storm calmed and she stood there. She was the only one who stood there. Nobody else moved. Everything was singed. She could smell her own fur burning. She felt disoriented. Fear overcame her. She ran. She hardly reached Kumo and Ame before she collapsed. Without her brother's adept attention there was no way Arashi would have survived, but she did. She began to heal. She remembered the tales her mother told her of their packs, and the frightening scene of her father over her poor mother's body. She knew that terrible fates awaited those who'd live in such a divided world. She vowed to her mother's memory that some day nobody would have to fear exile for having compassion for a wolf of another pack. She trained with Ame, both of them developing their powers. However, it seemed what had happened had broken poor Ame more than Arashi. After that day, Ame seemed lost. Kumo and Arashi did what they could to help her, but with every passing day Ame became more and more unbalanced. One morning, Arashi and Kumo woke to realize Ame was no longer int he den. They went looking for her, but they didn't have to go far. She was near where they'd rested. Or rather her body was. Limp and lifeless. Drenched as though she'd been submerged in water, though there was no water source large enough nearby that she could have fallen in. Water was leaking from her jaws as though she had drowned from the inside out. Her powers had overcome her. Arashi and Kumo traveled together only a few more days before Kumo announced that he had to leave. He wished Arashi well, and said he'd pray that she'd learn to control her powers, lest she end up like their sister, but he could not sit around and watch her die if she did not. He had no powers. He knew he would be of no help. Arashi watched her brother leave. He was weak. She would spend the next several moons training on her own. Working to master her newfound abilities and gaining a few more scars from. Her ambition grew. She didn't want any wolf to have to struggle and be alone as she had. As her mother had. As Ame had. She vowed she would unite the packs her parents had come from and make them stronger together. the role player Alias • Des Time Zone • EST Other Characters • none |
