ALPHESS ADRASTEIA
tag: @anyone
the young alphess felt herself wake from her slumber. her silvery jade eyes flickering open slowly as she looked around her den within the temple. Lifting her head and raising her upper body nestled on the throne below her and giving out a yawn. Flickering her ears up to listen for anything, it was silent apart from the sound of the burning flames around her. the alpha's den...a place she has gotten to know so well. especially since the alphas before her lived here before her. She got almost feel their presence still within the room, making her somewhat uncomfortable. rising to her feet, she needed to get out and breathe, get some air. after all fire required oxygen to live.
stepping out the temple, she still didn't hear anything. continuing out, she knew what she was going to do. patrol the border of her land. it is habit to do it every time she woke up from her slumber. not to mention it was what the alpha would do with her for practice when he passed, and now she still does it to this day. it was engraved into her memory and something she had to do before doing anything else. something she wanted honour the alpha and his mate by, it may not be much but it meant everything to her.
sighing heavily, adrasteia began at a trot even and steady as she grew further and further away from the temple. that was when she let loose. push her legs to go full stride which is much compared to larger wolves, but she was so much faster than them. she may lack some strength but she gained it in her speed and agility. taking off like a bullet that had been shot out of a gun. her ears pulled back and head slightly lowered and tucked to improve her speed. Her eyes locked ahead as the land flew by and she come onto the desert, red hot sand flicking up behind her. it took her a while but she saw the border of her land where the desert turned into short green grass. Coming to a halt, the female glanced out towards the board searching for anything, her nostrils flaring at the scents around her but none threatening and finally her ears pricked and alerted at any sound that could be heard for miles. drawing in deep breathes, she stepped back and whipped her head back before letting out a loud harmonious howl that would be heard for miles. Slowly ending her howl as it eased into softer notes before ending entirely. Her head looking straight ahead again. she waited and waited. but nothing. good. she huffed softly and continued to walk around the border, her head down and sniffing the ground on the occasion.
Once the young female made a full loop of the territory she sat down at the border her eyes looking ahead. the place where she had first meet the alpha himself when she was only eight months old. He had easily accepted her into the pack especially with her being already a fire elemental. He had accepted her not just as one of his pack but one his own pups. He taught her everything. Made her believe there may actually be some good wolves in the world. he was a brilliant leader and one she was heartbroken to see go, same with his mate. she was gentle and kind, she remember adrasteia so much of her mother katerinka....sighing heavily, she closed her eyes. She could never think of her mother or father without getting emotional in some way, that is why she chose to never speak about them. no one in the pack knew about them. only the alpha and his mate knew of everything that had happened. she was just glad they had never told anyone or pitied her or anything. instead they comforted her and taught her that there are wolves out there such as themselves better than that. she was so grateful for them. it had hit her hard when they passed. but she had to grow up and take their role as alpha and show them they she could be a brilliant alpha like themselves. and so far, she thinks she has been doing well for her pack. well that is what she thinks.
