| the sun barely had risen into the sky as adrasteia arrived in Death Valley. a place no wolf would voluntarily go without reason to. it had once belonged to a great pack, so she has heard, the land once rich and plentiful. so of course a pack would have claimed it for their home. it seemed reasonable and obvious. rumours and story say, the pack hadn't been killed off by other packs that wanted te land for themselves, no wolves from the pack lived, except for one. well apparently. adrasteia never met the one survivor or their offspring if they had any. Either way, the land had now become nothing more than dirt and bones. nothing grew here and seemed so bare and barren, it made her question whether there was lush green grass or shrubs or giantic trees. here she saw no evident there was any greens
stoppinin her tracks, she drew in a deep breath, scrunching up her nose at the scent that is heavy in the air. death. it reeked and it definitely isn't the most pleasant of smells. it smelled of decompsoing bodies, but yet there is none around. she remembered the elders saying that the land is cursed and no many wolves could survive if back out or through to the other side. it made her stomach twist slightly at the thought of the unknown being in there, hiding and waiting. shaking her head, those were just stories the elders would tell pups, adrasteia definitely isnf a pup anymore.
glancing to her side, she saw kraken and gave a smile at the white brute. it is so strange how they only meet seeming a day or so ago, and now they we're traveling to find their most hated enemy and kill him. not the most beautiful of adventures or noble for that matter, nonetheless she knew it had to be done. Better yet She has someone with the same hatred for binder, now she didn't feel quite insane anymore. at least someone understood her pain.
"Death Valley." she addressed with a neutral tone. "nice to finally meet you." muttering to herself as to not appear like so crazy wolf I felt kraken heard. muttering to herself didnt give her any mercy either. Glancing back at kraken, "you sure you want to do this? this is where I thought begins and there's will be no turning back," she strongly and studied him closely. even though you could back out at any moment, she still rather say you couldn't. it makes it more serious and offical. "I mean if you aren't up to it, you can sit this one out." she smirked playfully and bumped his shoulder before moving further into Death Valley. she didn't look back to see if kraken would follow, he is old enough to make his own decisions and if he wanted in then he could come with her. nothing stop him to not go. although, she knew he wouldn't refuse to go. She still like to stir him up a bit, why not? Give them both some fun while they went on the journey.

KrakenTHEY CALL ME DEVIL, AND YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID Excitement surged through Kraken like wild-fire and for the first time in many nights he slept like he head when he was next to his mother's side as a pup. There was someone else that shared his hatred,a bright individual that he deemed worthy of trust and being called a friend. He thought it funny that they only just met and now they would be exploring a vast variety of lands.. Would they end the journey they wanted it to? Would they kill the ugly brute or would he already be dead having fallen victim to his lies?
Were his siblings alive? What would they think when they saw him? Fear washed over him and he felt the urge to whimper. He didn't miss them because they never had a great relationship but he did yearn to share things with them.
These thoughts haunted him all the way to the edge of Death Valley.. A land that took ones breath away but not from beauty, it was lack of any kind of breeze. The male came to a stop by the she-wolf he had met the other night. Was she willing to do this? Willing to leave her pack behind and travel on a dangerous mission that could end badly? The male looked over her and smiled, he could see now that is worries were for naught. She looked ready. Relaxing he moved closer to her and gave a soft sigh as his eyes swept over the expanse of the land. An ugly place it was. His thoughts seemed to carry him way over the land and way past it towards his family but when she spoke his thoughts were broken and he looked back toher.
He laughed brightly. "What, and miss out on all of the fun? Heavens no!" he grinned and nudged her back playfully before bounding after her. "But, um. Are you sure you can leave?" he asked seriously. "Are you sure you want to do ths?" he asked softly as he moved to walk beside her. Clearing his throat. "No.. that isn't what I mean." Looking away awkwardly he grumbled out. "I promise to bring you back safely Adrasteia.. I promise to keep you safe." he said quietly with a look in her direction.. "Also..I would likeyou to make me a promise.." he said a bit sternly WORDS: || TAGGED: @adrasteia || MUSIC || NOTES: he's such a dramatic fuzzball

| the scent of death is strong and reeked as it burned adrasteia's lungs as she walked further into its grasp. the ground dried and cracked, looked as though water had never meet the ground before, let alone grew anything. bones lay around, slowly breaking and crumbling to nothing but dust. which all this place looked to have. Death Valley, is sure a sight and one that could take ones breath away, not in the beauty but the smell. it hit her hard and almost mad enough her want to hurl over and puke up everything she has eaten. somehow she managed to restrain herself from doing that. the bones that lay around, were of various animals long dead and gone. Adrasteia questioned whether she should have come through this routine, why not something more safe and comforting? Shen didn't want to be the next victim taken in Death Valley and never to get back out. she growled at herself, why was she being such a whining pup? she is an alpha and should act like one. one not to step into Death Valley and have the risk of never returning back home again. a shiver ran down her spine at the thought, however, she knew wouldn't let this boneyard scare her off. she is the alpha of adroushan and she wouldn't be scared off by rumours or stories told by elders to pups to scare them.
padding along at a clam even pace, head straight and looking ahead at the horizon that seemed to move further and further away. Never seeming to get closer to them. she couldn't not help but smile at krakens comment to not missing out on the adventure. she had hoped he would say that. he seemed to be a little bit like her, and she is glad of that. Otherwise they may have not gotten on so quickly or easily for that matter. they wouldn't be here now, searching for binder and his pack, to take him out for good. binder didn't deserve to live any longer manipulating and over powering wolves that were blind to see the evil he held within himself. they would have to prove he is not the wolf they see first or the wolves would be after them for killing their leader. then once proven, She would make sure his long overdue death would be slow and painful. seems only fair after all the pain he has put kraken and herself in, and countless other wolves to get what he wants.
krakens voice broken through her thoughts and she turned her head to listen properly to what he had to say. hearing him ask whether she was sure she can leave, she cocked up an eyebrow in confusion. why couldn't she? she os the alpha of her own pack and can make her own decisions and approve or disapprove them. she would do anything to go after binder, now she has kraken with her, nothing could stop her. so the beat could look after the pack until she got back. which she didn't know when but she didn't mind. as long a second she got to binder before he passed, which would be one of annoying fears. just as adrasteia was about to respond to his questions, she heard him speak correcting himself. hearing his words, she smiled a little and bumped his shoulder, "stop being dramatic. I can handle myself." she chuckled a little and shook her head. she is a very prideful wolf that is for sure, hated the idea of someone views her incapable of doing actions a male wolf can do or looking after herself. hearing his stern comment at the end, she froze, stopping in her tracks...."what may that be?" she watched him wearily and closely, eyes searching for soemthing, anything to tell her what he may be thinking right now. however she could find anything. "I can't make a promise unless I know what it is." she spoke calmly with a small smile crept onto her muzzle. turning her head, she looked out to Death Valley, the scent of death was thick, but she swore she could smell something else...something alive. she frowned a little before shaking her head, probably imagining things. looking back at kraken to hear what he had to say,

KrakenTHEY CALL ME DEVIL, AND YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID Kraken swallowed and moved to make his pace match the females. "Promise me that if I... Seem different at one time that you will not try and help me.." he murmured, embarrassed to speak of it. His ears burned hot but his voice remained unwavering as he spoke. "I'm not positive what I can do when I am in that state, I just know I am dangerous and should not be around others." he said as he eyed her closely to see her reaction but then quickly dropped his gaze.
"I do not want to be responsible for hurting you, I do not think I can bare that thought.. The thought that I dare even made a threatening move in your direction.. " he paused and thought for a moment the cursed at himself quietly. "Eh,. That isn't to say I think you can't handle yourself because that isn't the case at all." he stumbled over his words as he tried to correct himself, his ears growing hotter. "I don't think that at all, in fact I believe that you could run circles around another when it came to handling yourse--" he stopped, realizing that he was making an even bigger fool of himself.
"AH. um.." he laughed awkwardly and scrunched his nose up "The air here is so unmoving.. it makes it hard to breath." the wolf woofed as he tried his hardest to change the subject, hoping the both of them would forget about his silly blunder.
Kraken can be described as someone who often times makes a wider circle around things when trying to make it sound simple but really only made it harder for one to understand or making the situation more uncomfortable or rather just plain weird.
The male came to a stop and sniffed at the air. "To be honest, this place gives me the creeps" he said in a quiet whisper. Shuddering as he though about all the lives that had been just wiped from the earth in a matter of moments, two great packs.. gone, but, why? Looking around he took in the entire scene before starting back up his pace, walking just a step or two behind the female.

] | listening intently to krakens words, she stayed neutral and showed no emotions as she listened, studying each word, beforehand moving onto the next. making sure she completely understood what he meant by them, however, despite this being effective for her, it still can cause her to read too much into them. which isn't good. making her jump to conclusions or assuming something but the one who spoke the words though differently. now, she tried to not maul over the words too much, or she could read into them too much. she didn't want to jump to conclusions yet again. her ears grew hot with embarrassment at the memory of when she had though kraken been one of binders helpers. adrasteia couldn't believe she had done that. she is always had been level headed, yes sometimes she would burst and go out on instincts alone. but then, she had been right and her instincts knew more than her head or heart. However, she had been wrong on accusing kraken. which disappointed her, yet pleased her. confused and disappointed about being wrong about what Shen thought. But yet, pleased and relieved he had no relations with binder, besides the damaged he had done to him. with a pinch of wonder, kraken is like no other wolf she had meet. not that he had problems obviously, in fact that didn't bother her, just every ounce of her being wanted to know him. to be there for him. why? she had no idea. maybe her subconscious wanted to help him out with how much he had been through. she didn't know.
as soon as he spoke about he promise she would have to make, she frowned. her instant reaction is no, she couldnt do that. But yet, he continued before she could speak or respond at all. Speaking about not being responsible for hurting her. she instantly scoffed and rolled her eyes, "me? Get hurt? really?" she growled a little almost offended at his words. who did he think he was saying she couldn't look out for herself? kraken continued to try and correct himself about what he meant, rambling. Adrasteia relaxed and laughed a little at his stuttering and rambling like a nervous pup. she nudged him with her muzzle gently to try and calm him down and to relax a bit. hearing his excuses, she shook her head a little and continued to walk, but didn't bother to point out his excuse and the flaws.
when kraken came to a stop, she stopped a bit in front of him and looked back at him. he really pale gaze looked over the white brute curiously. then turning around and continuing on, hearing kraken walking a few steps behind her. drawing out a big exhale, "the answer to your promise is: no." she spoke softly but seriously, eyes dead ahead, "I can't do that to you." she whispered softly, almost saddened. why? why would she be sad about that? Shen barely knew the brute, what a day? yet here she was already risking her life to make sure he is safe. what was wrong with her?
continuing to walk ahead, she stepped further ahead to keep a bit of distance between her and kraken. so he couldn't convince her to change her mind. not that she could change her mind now that it is made up. no one could. stubborn as a bull she is, not even her closest could change her mind when she has it locked. it is impossible.
paws steps light and quick as to lead them through Death Valley. she checked the placing of the sun to make sure she was walking in the right direction so they didn't get lost. luckily, she knew how to do that well from exploring as a pup all the time and havinto find he really way back home by the stars and sun alone. it seemed like the Valley stretched for an eternity and never came to a spot, it drew the engery out of her. she knew she would have to stop soon but she wouldn't. unless kraken said otherwise. that's right kraken, she turned and looked back at male, and waited for him to catch up so they could walk together. and to make sure he didn't get lost or she got lost. nothing worse than being spilt up here. they needed each other to survive through this place.
suddenly, something solid slammed into her flank and knocked her a metre or so back. her back hitting a rock, winding her instantoeusly. She coughed and gaged, as she tried to inhale some precious oxygen. it seemed like hours, before she finally took in the first sharp breath. She wheezed and eyes watered before pushing to her feet, not before a sharp pain shot through her body from her neck. Adrasteia hwoeld out in pain and immediately began to shake whatever the pain is away. warmth began to streak through her fur as blood oozed from the wound. managing to turn around she latched onto a mouth of fur —what?— she bit down as hard a step possible and tugged until the pain eased and a yelp was heard. Adrasteia let go and moved way as quickly as possible to see what had attacked her. seeing a petite starving male wolf. His fur ragged and had patches missing, ribs and bones all protruded from his body, it made her sick at the sight. his eyes locked onto her, dark and lifeless, cruel and dangerous. accompanied with the look she knew well...hunger.
The male laughed, "ah boys! looks like we have a fighter on our paws." his voice dark and twisted. it send shivers down her spine and made her stomach churn. more wolves appeared by his side, two. all males. All the same starving ragged looks. rouges. they reeked of it and death. the scent of wolf blood stuck to their pelts and filled the air around them. canibals. the worst kind of wolf and not many you came across unless in dye situations. although the Death Valley would be one of those situations. a deep growl rumbled in her throats in defence. "back off, I have done anything to you!" she spoke steady and seriously, but the leader of them simply laughed. they all laughed almost like she were a pup trying to be scary. the leader moved forward and adrasteia snarled, trying not to step back despite the threat before her. she wouldn't let him feel the satisfaction of her back up. "exactly, my sweet little thing," confusion waved over her and let her guard down for a moment, "but yet, we all need to eat to survive, don't we?" he tilted his head and smirked, a canine peeking out. it spoke of the amount of wolves he has killed and feasted on. It made her sick to the core, she snarled again, "find something else, you mongrel." she snapped her temper getting the better of her. he sighed and shook, "you really have no idea." before she could do anything, he launched at her and the other went for kraken.

KrakenTHEY CALL ME DEVIL, AND YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID Kraken would breath a sigh of relief when she told him no and felt almost, happy? But why? The male frowned at his confusing, rather conflicting, emotions.. Why was he feeling relieved when he wanted her to be safe.. The very thought bewildered the male because he felt the urge to keep her safe, to protect her and even to bring down anyone who dared to look in her direction, or even sniff.. Why was he feeling relieved when she said no? Flicking an ear, the white brute would remain quiet as he tried to figure it out but to no avail because as he thought of that he also thought about why he felt that way towards her when he had never felt even so much as a inkling of this kind of urge for any other wolf, let alone a female.
Kraken eyed the she-wolf.. What was it about her that gave him this feeling? Still he had no idea. He followed silently behind her trying to think of the reason as they moved and soon became unaware his surroundings, something he seldom did for losing track of what was around you could easily land one in hot water, be it by getting lost or by getting attacked or worse, killed. His thoughts were interrupted when he came aware of an off scent and just as he was about to comment on it his companion had been knocked backwards into a rock. Staring wide eyed he looked around just in time to catch sight of the animal moving towards Adrasteia and then taking hold of her causing her to yelp in pain! Alarm swept through him as his neck fur began to bristle, moving forward he saw her shake off her attacker and then move to stand up, he noted the blood and felt a surge of anger... The undeniable feeling of wanting to kill someone. Turning his cold eyes onto the new-comer and saw it was a wolf, and what a sight it was!
The wolf was literally skin and bones and had the look of hunger gleaming in the dead eyes. Lowering his head he would snarl viciously as he moved to stand beside Adrasteia. Taking down these wolves would be easy, they were weak from hunger and obviously in pain. A look of pure insanity flared in the dark eyes of the white brute as he growled deeply once more and he only vaguely heard Adrasteia speak and then be answered by the wolf and then the wolves moved for an attack, seeing the wolf launch itself at Adrasteia he was about to move towards her when he was bowled over by the other.
Spitting and snarling, Kraken wiggled under the other and drew up his legs to kick his attacker in the gut. The wolf made a soft gasping noise as it was knocked over but quickly regained it's footing and moved again to attack Kraken but this time Kraken was ready and met the wolf head on. Teeth bared and fur flying, Kraken fought tooth and nail against the pitiful animal.
He felt the teeth of the other dig into his shoulder and let out a furious howl as he flopped down onto his side and rolled over, crushing his attacker under him. The wolf yelped in pain and released Kraken immediately. Once more on his feet Kraken launched at the wolf and pinned it. Teeth bared, the white brute seemed to have an off aura coming from him.
He wanted to kill.. He wanted to spill the blood of this foe not just teach him a lesson. Who were they to attack Adrasteia and him? Eyes gleaming, Kraken's maw opened but just as he neared the throat he caught sight of the wolf's eyes and paused. That look...
'Big mistake' he heard the wolf growl as it wiggled out from Kraken's grasp and came at him with a open mouth and fangs gleaming. Quickly Kraken leaped out of the way of the snapping teeth and once more launched himself at the skinny animal and had no trouble bowling it over. Round and round the two wolves rolled over each other and when they came to a stop the pair were a couple of fox leaps away from each other. Like lightning both wolves scrambled to their paws and launched another attack. Kraken's teeth meeting the other's neck. Keeping hold of the other's neck, Kraken landed on all fours, his grip only tightening.
Kill, Kill! Kill or be killed, Eat or be eaten.
With this in mind Kraken's jaws tightened and his teeth suck deeper into the wolf's neck hitting the vital wind pipe and instantly the wolf went lip in his jaws. For a moment he stood with the limp body hanging from his mouth, his sides heaved and his wounds oozed blood. Kraken had killed before but this time it felt different... But if asked he couldn't explain. His eyes then narrowed towards the she-wolf.

| without so much as a second thought the male lunged straight for her, almost catching her off guard. almost. jumping to the side, she narrowly missed his jaws as they snapped where her neck hadn't been. growling in frustration, he went after her again, lunging, but she had expected it. all attack this wolf is. She could predict when his next move was and when. this fight was pup play, pbviously being out in the Death Valley has taught them nothing of fighting.
Hearing a yelp, she instantly looked over at kraken and the two wolves after him. panic sparked through her at the sound. Wa if kraken? Was he hurt? searching, she noticed kraken is in fact the one in control of the fight and the others wolf had yelped in pain. Relief flooded her but it didn't last long. adrasteia felt the solid ground slam into her spine as she lay back. the male standing over her, growling teeth bared and salvia dripped from his mouth uncontrollably. he put all his weight into his front paws to prevent her from wiggling free. adrasteia was stuck. She had made a crucial mistake of losing focus on the fight a time hand and now it could result in her losing her life. depsite the situation Shen didn't give up. a thunderously growl hummed in her chest as Shen glared up at the male. her lip pulled back and ear she pressed against her cranium. she didn't expect what happened next.
he laughed.
he laughed so hard, he started to tear up. it only made her more angry and determined to beat his sorry ass. snapping her jaws, she reached for his throat, but being smaller than most breeds didn't helps her. once Shen is pinned it is hard to undo it. "that's no way to play nice now," he smirked down at her before moving to her ear to whisper, "after all, you just lost to a starved wolf." her ears burned as anger burst through her at beings called weak. Adrasteia swiftly snapped at the side of his neck a no longer locked her jaws, making sure no what happened she would stayed locked on. he yelped out in shock and jumped back, pulling her off of the ground. unlatching, She stepped back, as a new found anger built within her. yes locked on him unmoving, teeth bared as her hackles rose. she wouldn't be belittled by this scum. Not ever.
they circled each other, before he finally ran straight at her. she welcomed it rather than dodge it. slamming into him full force head on,as they both went into a blur of fur, teeth and claws. they continued until adrasteia got knocked back, digging her claws into the dirt to prevent herself from sliding any further. He was strong for a starved wolf she would give him that.
he ran at her again, she dodged but he moved quickly and latched onto her flank. he shook his head from side to side trying to tear out a chunk of fur and skin. pain spread throughout her like a virus, as she howled out in pain. kicking him off her, he looked back at him, her blood stuck to his mouth as he licked it off and smiled. his eyes becoming more animal than before. he wnated to kill and she knew if. he has gotten the taste and now wnated more. too bad he wasn't good gettign anything.
jumping at her, she manoeuvred around him and latched onto his underbelly. she pulled with all her might using her powerful neck and back leg muscles to pull. blood filled her mouth as she heard him how long out in pain. He collapsed forcing her to let go, but swiftly she went for his neck before he could say or do anything. the life faded from his eyes slowly as he became limp and unmoving.
stepping back, she stared at what she had done. Not that Shen hadn't killed a wolf beforehand, but it had been years since she has. Shen still felt guilt but yet she didn't it out of self defense and nothing more. sitting down on her haunches, she felt the wounds all over her oozing blood and her fur caked wit her drunk blood. her mouth still tasted of his blood. yuck, She spat out the remaining amount before standing up. there was no time to just sit, the young needed to get out of Death Valley. glancing at the sky, was growing dark and she felt tired and sore, even despite her determination she knew had to rest.
looking around their surroundings, she spotted an outcropped small cliff that couldn't provide some shelter. she began to walk over to it. her mind wondered to kraken as Shen reached it. sitting down in the shade, Shen knew darkness was creeping up. looking over at him, she's gave a short soft whine. laying down, her pale eyes looking at the white brute curiously.

KrakenTHEY CALL ME DEVIL, AND YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID The white brute stood stalk still with the deceased wolf at his paws as the battle between the she-wolf and the rogue occurred, oh how he wanted to intervene but he knew if he did it would only anger or hurt the she-wolf and make it seem like he didn't believe she could handle herself. Digging his toes into the ground he fought the urge to tear that rogue into pieces, his eyes flashed in anger and blood pounded in his ears. He felt dizzy and unsteady on his paws and then all at once it stopped. The wolf she was fighting was dead staring blankly at the two dead wolves he murmured something and stepped back, his white paws stained red from the blood that had formed a small puddle. Looking at the wolf he killed he flattened his ears, he had killed before some times without realizing it was he that did it but this time he wanted to kill, he wanted to make the wolves that attacked Adrasteia to pay and to feel pain. A shiver went down his spine as he thought of it, shuddering he looked up to see the she-wolf moving over towards a outcrop from a small cliff and began to follow on unsteady paws. His wounds gave him no trouble but perhaps that was because his mind was on something else entirely.
He stepped around the other wolf's body, his eyes narrowing towards it. They had to kill these wolves otherwise they themselves would be lying there in a pool of their own blood and later feasted on. Scrunching his nose he wondered if he would have done the same in their position. Quickly deciding that he wouldn't he moved at a faster rate towards the outcrop and towards the Alphess and as he neared he would speak in a low tone;
"Adrasteia, are you okay?" his dark gaze coated over with worry as he looked at her from head to tail then moved closer to sniff at her pelt. He would then draw his tongue over one of the wounds and let out a soft sigh. "Adrasteia I'm sorry.." he murmured as he sat down and gazed at her, his own eyes sorrowful. "You got hurt because of this journey." he let out a soft whine, a noise that surprised him. It was something he hadn't done since he was a pup fresh out of the den. Sniffing at the she wolf again he would once more lick the wound. "You should eat something." quickly getting to his paws he would look over his shoulder before glancing back at her and smiling gently. "I will go and see if I can fetch a rabbit or something." he said and turned to walk from the outcrop before turning to look over his shoulder. "You stay here, don't move or think about leaving this place until I come back. OKay?' he said, his voice laced with concern and earnest. WORDS: || TAGGED: || MUSIC || NOTES:
