FORGIVE ME FATHER FOR I LIKE SIN
Night. The time where darkness chases away the light and takes over the skies. Twinkling lights above shine and shimmer. Some of them shining brighter than others and even making shapes within the blanket of night. They were a sight to behold. Tonight Tenebris was walking alone. His ebony pelt blending in with the darkness that surrounded him. His gate a lazy one while his tail swished loosely behind his figure. Silvery eyes roaming the lands he walked in, but zoning in on nothing particular. His pack was back at the temple, most of them had already settled in for the night with their beloveds. Curled in around their young as the pups wiggled and tugged at each other's ears. He remembered when himself and his sister would do the same as his parents tried to quiet them both for sleep. A small grin lifted the corners of his maw at the memory.
The moon was now at it’s highest peak. It’s radiant glow lighting the land his paws touched. A small breeze blowing through and ruffling his coat with icy fingers. It sent a small shiver down the brutes spine. Tenebris moved about lazily and finally came to a land with beautiful trees. Their flowers of pinks and light purples as their branches hung to the ground. The ground was littered with fallen petals that were blown down by the breeze. The moonlight giving them a low pink glow as the branches swayed in the wind. It was peaceful here. Tenebris moved forwards as he looked around and noted that he had never been here before tonight. Coming to the middle of the field that was surrounded by the beautiful trees, the brute laid down and looked up at the full moon and all her beauty. He laid there in solitude as the breeze rustled the trees and grass. Taking it all in.

It seemed that Appari had an uncanny way of finding the Erebos Alpha male without really trying. They had spoken briefly at the Florescent Falls, along with several others, and then both appeared here randomly. That was obviously intriguing to the pallid white male; perhaps now they could speak in solitude without outside interruptions. Appari was not opposed to meeting the other pack leaders the other night; in fact it was very beneficial. However, the cream colored canine knew that he simply must speak with this Alpha Ten…Tenebris, yes that was it, alone. Something about the onyx male seemed to jive well with Appari, so a quick conversation should not do any harm. If others came afterwards so be it, but the Adamo Alpha would be the first to call upon Tenebris, of that he was certain.
After visiting the Fairy Ring and investigating the blood moon the other night, the albino male traveled to see that his lands were in order. Seeing as they were and no one had showed up in the territory yet, he ventured out again on that particular evening. The male’s coat was in direct contrast to the night’s color scheme, but that was not something that mattered to him necessarily. From day one the wolf stood out from various crowds, what was one more? Appari did not realize how mobile he would be initially, but these night trips were growing more and more frequent. He was not the most curious or adventure hungry of wolves in all honesty. But the desire to establish meaningful connections in various social circles and to live a meaningful life called to him. What was a life if it was not worth living?
Entering and exploring Astridax was an entirely new experience for Appari. And if wolves had them, it would be something he would check off of his bucket list. This specific wolf really hated to think about death in any capacity, so he did not want to create a list of things to do before he died. But this probably would have been on that list if he did. He could look back on it and say it was one of the wonderful things he had done. Alpha Appari padded into Astridax with quiet paws. The semi glowing pink flowers actually accentuated the vivid color of his crimson eyes as he looked around. There was some haze around the very edges of the male’s vision as always at night, but he did not mind it too much. That kind of thing was normal for him now. He could see well enough to encapsulate the lusciousness of the territory in his mind’s eye. And if need be, he could return another day and get better view, which he already planned on doing anyways.
The temptation to walk through the blanket of hanging foliage was too much to resist. Appari cat walked underneath the flowery drapes, arching his shoulders and body to get the full effect. He rolled his shoulders around in their sockets, feeling thoroughly relaxed thereafter. A gentle, inevitable smile touched the wolf’s thin, black lips. As a small breeze passed through the trees, it stirred and dislodged flowers around Appari. His front paws moved to collect them into a pile as if he were saving them for later. For someone with nowhere to go, this place must have been like a paradise for them. To loners, it could be a safe place and respite to reside until they decided their future plans. Everything was running smoothly thus far between the multiple packs, but one could never fully know the outcome. The life of a loner or rogue could be something rough at times. All it took was one bad egg in the bunch and then things were shot to heck. The serene nature of Astridax seemed to be impervious to external affairs at the moment however, and offered a peaceful place for all to come. Hopefully more would take advantage of its refuge.
Padding forward, Appari came within a few feet of the other male and watched. He waited a moment as to not disturb his alone time quite yet. Just inferring from a small survey at the falls, Tenebris had a lot on his plate. His pack already seemed to be chalk full of wolves, and this might have been the only time he could take advantage of alone. Granted, a flourishing pack was always a good thing, but time for self was also good as well. It offered the ability to think and breathe clearly without consistent plagues of what to do next. Waiting a moment longer, Alpha Appari finally cleared his throat quietly to get Tenebris’ attention indirectly. Sneaking up on an acquaintance, well, that was not exactly the wisest thing to do, even with the most well-mannered of wolves. Appari closed the gap between the two of them, tail swishing once as an indication of his placid mood. It was a night for pleasant conversation and simply enjoying what the world had to offer. There was something more on the male’s mind, but he would not jump into that right away. Social etiquette indicates that at least a little small talk is acceptable first before hopping into deeper subjects of discussion. At least that is what he was taught as a small fry anyways.
When he got near enough, Appari reclined on silken haunches, and covered his paws with his bushy tail out of habit. Whenever he was in a stationary position, that is typically what happened with him; his paws were covered in a barrier of fluffy tail fluff. Words finally eased out of Appari’s mouth, no more than a murmur in volume, but holding their usual friendly tone of course. “Long time no see, eh, Tenebris? Out for another evening stroll like I am?” Appari asked, glancing sideways with a small smirk on his features. His furred brow rose in question as he very mildly teased the Erebos Alpha male.

FORGIVE ME FATHER FOR I LIKE SIN ☼ Tenebris laid upon the grass, the stars above shining brightly against the blanket of darkness. The moon giving enough light to the world around them. It was then that a scent crossed his nose, he recognized it quickly. It was his friend, the Adamo Alpha, Appari. He knew the wolf would approach within his own time, so there was no reason for calling upon him to join. Just like clockwork a voice landed upon his ears, flicking an ear back to listen as he was asked a question. Tenebris sat up as his new company finally joined him at his side and silvery eyes turned to the white male now sitting beside him,”well good evening Alpha Appari and indeed I am, the pack has been bustling about and I came here to get away from the position for a while. Why are you about this night?” His right brow arched in curiosity as he wondered why his friend was wondering about. His eyes turned back to the sky as a smaller statement escaped his maw,”tonight is a wondrous night for a stroll and good company. The stars are shining greatly as the moon lights the lands before us.” His attention went back to his friend, lifting a right hind leg to scratch an itch. Then sat still as he waited for a response.

The small, friendly smirk from before continued to have its perch upon Appari’s facial features. The wolf usually was not one to show outright emotion, but he was in a particularly good mood that evening. It did not matter if a little bit showed through, although Appari was not a smiley wolf like others were. Sometimes wolves that had the happiest of expressions were actually the meanest ones, and vice versa. They put on the façade of friendliness when the opposite was true. Appari’s typical expressions were neutral ones with a friendly, social presence about him. However, there were certain occasions when exceptions were made of course. And this case just happened to be one of them. The man was in a good mood and it obviously showed for the world to see. The way that he moved through the territory before and almost everything about him was indicative of it. Perhaps it was the moonlit evening that was making him this way, or perhaps it was something else. Regardless, it was what it was, and Appari felt how he felt.
It seemed that the two males had come to the same location for different reasons however. Tenebris came to Astridax for peace and quiet. Appari, on the other hand, had come for something satiate his boredom and meander around a little bit. The amount of Erebos pack wolves definitely was filling up faster than the other packs around from the looks of it. That was a good thing for the onyx colored male, but Appari could certainly see the need for a break every so often. Having to fulfill the needs of so many wolves could potentially be a taxing job. One that they both had willingly signed up for at that, though neither one seemed to be complaining about it. It was an honor to lead a pack and serve its members at the same time. If things continued to be this way, both Adamo and Erebos would have long histories of praiseworthy wolves and legendary stories to tell. That might take some time to be sure, but they were headed down the right paths so far. Especially if the two packs could do it side by side as allies.
Nodding once, Appari poised himself to speak again. That same jesting spirit from before marked his words. “That is good to hear that your pack is doing well at this point in time,” Appari commented, “And very well it seems, as you can afford to steal some time away for yourself. Not all others have that luxury unfortunately.” Thankfully the alpha male had not seen a struggling pack outright lately, and his own was not in a compromising situation either. It was quite the refreshing thought that his new home was safe in his care, and that he was a good steward of it. There was a distinct glimmer of hope in the wolf’s reddened eyes for a moment before it disappeared entirely. Appari shifted his weight from one paw to the other before speaking again. “As for me and mine, we are resting easy as well. The Adamo pack lands are peacefully quiet. So I figured I would actually seek out company to fill the air and time. If anyone misses me, I am currently unaware of it. It would do well of them to openly speak their mind to me.” Should they need him, Appari would not hesitate to come to his pack’s beck and call. And of course those hovering in the lands could fend off things as well. But there was nothing of worry at present.
At the mention of the moon and the stars, the white wolf looked up, and a gentle hum of agreement sounded. Most wolves stereotypically seemed to be drawn to the night and all of its beauty. That was why their voices often rose in one accord when the moon was full and at its peak. They called to the beacon of hope and overhead natural guidance. The stars were a source of navigation, always lighting the way home for those that knew how to use them. Some merely admired the mythical pictures dotting the sky while others relied on them for stronger means. It was possible that the Erebos pack had an even closer relationship to the night due to their powers as well. It was a question the canine would have to ask at a later date. Did nights truly empower them like the sun might for light wolves? It was surely something to think about. Earthen wolves were clearly different in that respect. The land beneath their paws was the source of their strength, accessible regardless of what time it was. “Indeed the landscape gets to be stunning all of her evening dress when she fancies to. Sometimes her shyness precedes her, and she is cloaked in mystery. But it appears we have been granted a momentary midnight rendezvous,” Appari stated in confirmation. The pallid white male normally was not much of a talker, but he was tempted to in that moment. Only those that he truly liked were granted that privilege often. Appari was beginning to trust Tenebris for whatever good reason, so that might be plausible with the black wolf. To be called a friend by Appari. That very fact reminded him of the other thing he wanted to talk to Tenebris about earlier. Now was as good as time as ever he supposed. It would save the alpha another walking trip, especially into foreign occupied lands.
“I do not mean to interrupt your solace and solitude. However, I do have a quick proposition to put past you Alpha Tenebris,” Appari started. His crimson eyes flicked towards the other male’s grayish ones, down from the sky above again. It would be a quick and simple proposal, one that would have the open option of refusal, but it was worth a shot anyways. Alpha Appari would never know the answer until he tried at least.
